These Monterey County homeless, foster students have a higher graduation rate than housed students

Thirty-five percent of students enrolled in The North Monterey County Unified School District (NMCUSD) are homeless or foster students, according to district officials. These students are living in conditions with financial constraints including living with multiple families in similar financial situations, living in motels, campers, cars, or in shelters.
