Letter from our Superintendent

Dear NMCUSD,We are anticipating a great 22-23 school year! I have much to be thankful for and my heart is filled with gratitude towards our teachers and staff, our parents, and most of all, our students. Our gathering together at the high school stadium marks a new beginning, and it’s exciting. As I reflect on the past two years, I am thankful for everyone who has helped us navigate all that we experienced. I strongly believe we are a better organization than we were before the pandemic and I look forward to all the opportunities that lie ahead.
Many of our staff have been engaged in training and learning best practices which are proven to have positive learning outcomes for our students. It is our educational institution’s responsibility to prepare each student for post-secondary opportunities, guaranteed to prepare students for careers each student is passionate about experiencing. We want students to thrive and be ready to serve themselves, family, and others. To meet this goal, we must partner with our colleagues, parents, guardians, and community members. We must listen and learn from each other, developing respectful relationships that foster a culture that inspires excellence for students.
We want NMCUSD students to believe, “We are better together” and “Be the GREATEST at what you do!” I stand by this, and I invite all educators, parents, and the community to stand with me.
The leadership and staff are more than optimistic that we will provide quality learning experiences for students in our North Monterey County Unified School District. We look forward to an amazing school year. Welcome aboard, new staff, and welcome back existing staff!
