A Letter from the Principal
July 29, 2020
Dear North Monterey County High School Community,
We are approaching the start of our 2020-2021 school year. This school year will be much different than those we
have experienced in the past. Our greatest focus will be our student’s continued engagement in learning and
supporting their individual needs. We are opening school on August 12th following a distance learning "remote"
instructional model due to the State's updated guidelines and the current status of cases within Monterey County.
We will have "Welcome" registration packets with important information and instructional activities for the first
three days of school (Aug. 12, 13, 14) for pick up on Monday, August 10 at the High School or delivery beginning on
Tuesday the 11th. All high school students will have their class schedules sent to them in their school gmail account
and mailed to their home address after the return of their registration packet. Registration packets must be
returned by August 14th. Day and Time for Return options are on the Back to School calendar attached.
Your student's teacher (homeroom/advisory teacher for middle and high school) and academic school counselor
will be in contact with you and your student beginning the week of August 10th through phone, email and video
conferencing. Information for each teacher and academic counselor’s contact information along with the school's
daily schedule for the month of August will be posted on the school's website and facebook page.
Students who already have a school device and access to adequate internet in grades 3-12 will be participating in
distance learning via the District's platform "Google Classroom." Students in grades 3-12 who need a District issued
chromebook and/or who need access to the internet can pick up a device on the dates on the Back to the Nest
Calendar.
The calendar for 9th-12th grade return to school events will be on the school website and facebook page on August
3rd. Please anticipate participation in book return and chromebook distribution on August 5th-7th.
