September 13, 2020 - "A message from the Superintendent regarding attendance requirements"Dear NMCUSD Families:
We hope you're staying safe and healthy. This is another weekly update focused on new requirements for student attendance. The California State Law for attendance requirements has been modified for our distance learning format. This year students are required to participate in daily live instruction and complete at least 60% of their weekly instructional minutes. Please continue to stay in touch with your teacher and principal. Please visit our district website to watch the most up to date video on attendance.
Thank you and have a great weekend!
September 02, 2020 - "Superintendent Message: Technology and Internet Access"
Dear NMCUSD Families,This is a video update on technology and internet access. Each school has handed out chromebooks for each grade level. If your student did not yet check out a device, please call your school to arrange to pick up a chromebook. The District has installed Wifi in each school's parking lot areas to allow students to access the school internet with their district login account while parked in a car, more information will be forthcoming. For those families who indicated the need for wifi, we will be contacting you individually when the AT & T hotspots arrive. Stay tuned for opportunities to work together as a community to address the digital divide in the North Monterey County areas. Thank you for your patience as we navigate through these challenges.
August 30, 2020 - "A message from the Superintendnet: Week 4"Dear NMCUSD Families and Community,
We understand that launching this year has been like no other; we are all experiencing the strain and uncertainty that accompanies this pandemic. Despite that uncertainty, we owe it to our students to work together to make school healthy, safe, productive and fun this year. And, we owe it to our community of parents and guardians to empower them as allies while easing some of the burdens of this new reality. Site principals, assistant principals, teachers and staff across the District are working hard to connect with students and families, develop learning experiences that are engaging, challenging and supportive, all requiring new learning and forms of communication. We all thank you for your patience and your feedback.
