District Mission
Statement
An innovative community school system,
we equip Preschool to Adult students with the skills, knowledge
and attitudes they will need to pursue their life goals responsibly
and creatively in a radically changing society.
Welcome to North Monterey
County Unified School District. We serve approximately 5,500
preschool through adult students, in four elementary schools, a
middle school, a comprehensive high school, and our alternative
education programs.
We offer a wide range of programs for students and families. Preschool
programs and extended day services are available at each elementary
school. Before and after school academic and enrichment activities
are also provided at all of our schools. Our secondary
schools provide athletics, band, as well as other activities and enrichment
programs. We also provide Regional Occupation Program (ROP)
classes, an Independent Study Program, a Continuation High School, a School Age
Parenting program, an Adult Education Program, English as a Second Language
(ELL), GED, and citizenship classes.
The district’s focus, guided by our
Strategic Plan, is to
ensure that every student develops the basic skills needed to be
successful in our academic program. We continuously refine our instructional
programs to improve student success and academic achievement. This
is accomplished through collaboration across grade levels and between
schools. In addition, we have developed partnerships with Hartnell
College, California State University at Monterey Bay, the University
of California at Santa Cruz, and John F. Kennedy University.
We are proud of our students, staff, and community.
Please visit our schools and see us
in action!
