Gary De Amaral is a 4th generation Monterey County resident
who has resided in Prunedale for over 20 years. Gary has a son
and daughter attending NMCHS, and another son who graduated
with honors from NMCHS and now attends USC. He coached youth
basketball for 10 years at the Castroville Community Center
and at the middle schools. Gary is President of TechRx Corp
and holds a degree in computer technology from Control Data
Institute along with multiple Microsoft Certifications. He is
also President of the North Monterey County Chamber of
Commerce and Castroville Festivals Incorporated and serves on
many other civic groups and committees. Gary believes that
fulfilling the potential of North Monterey County's children
and schools is the foundation of a truly sustainable future
for our community.
 
Mr.
Osorio is a native of Monterey Bay and he and his
wife Susan have lived in Prundale for the last six years.
He received his Associates of Arts degree from Cabrillo
College, Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from University of
California and his Master's degree in Counseling Education at
San Jose State University. He recently retire after 34
years in education as Assistant Superintendent/Vice President
at Cabrillo College. He served 11 years on the Pajaro
Unified School District Board of Trustees, and on the Boards
of United Way, Women's Crisis Support/Defensa de Mujeres,
Rotary Club of Watsonville, and several other non-profit
organizations. As a product of public education, Mr.
Osorio believes in and has a passion for ensuring that every
child in the community has access to a safe and healthy
learning environment. He is committed to the promotion
of quality education in the public schools whereby
teachers and staff are supported with the necessary resources.

Mrs. Jimenez has served on the Board for ten
years. She feels both a sense of responsibility
and honor to serve on community boards and committees that
help improve the quality of life for all She is a graduate
of Hartnell College and CSUMB. She has lived in the North
County area for over 30 years. She, her husband, and four
sons attended schools in Castroville. Mrs. Jimenez works as
a Program Manager for the Department of Social Services. Due
to her personal experience as seasonal farm worker and former
high school dropout, she has a great deal of empathy for families
facing adverse challenges. She sees the potential and hope
in all children.
Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, Sam
Laage is a graduate of UC Berkeley and the
University of Michigan. A resident of the Monterey Bay area
for over twenty years, Mr. Laage has had a variety of occupations.
He has been teaching Biology at Gavilan Community College
for the past ten years. Eleven years ago Mr. Laage and his wife
Dorothy were married, bought their house on Elkhorn Road,
and gave birth to their son Nathan. Mr. Laage is a firm believer
in participating in the democratic process and the importance
of public education as a means of achieving true social equality.
Mr. Laage was elected to the Board in 1997.

Mrs.
Polly Jimenez has lived in the North County area for more than
30 years and taught in North County schools for 37 years.
Although retired, she is still dedicated to education,
particularly to educating the youth of our community, and is
honored to be a part of this board. Mrs. Jimenez is a
graduate of Carmel High School and California State
Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. She has one
daughter who graduated from district schools. Mrs. Jimenez
volunteers on various local boards and has long history of
community service.
