| State law (Senate
Bill 21), passed in 1999, authorized the development of
the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) that student
in California pubic schools will have to pass to receive
a high school diploma, beginning with the graduating class
of 2004. The purpose of the CAHSEE is to help ensure that
students who graduate from high school can demonstrate
competency in state content standards for reading, writing,
and math. |
| Test dates vary
from year to year. Tenth grade students may take the CAHSEE
one time in the spring. Eleventh and twelth grade students
can take the test three times per year. Call the high
